Book of First John (Lesson 8) – Confessing Jesus, Fearing God, the Heart of Flesh
This is lesson 8 of the systematic Bible study of the Book of First John which covers 1 John 4:12-21. Practical advice is given to parents and teachers on how to teach these verses, and important doctrines are pointed out and discussed. The doctrines being covered are: #1 – No man has ever seen God. #2 – The saints are identified by their love and care for one another. #3 – Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God. #4 – The Christian is to be as Christ is here now on earth, this is their confidence and assurance of salvation. #5 – The fear and terror of the judgement of God is turned to joy because of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, where the saints were reconciled to God. #6 – Man can only love God, if God loves him first. #7 – If a person profess to love God, yet do not love the people of God, then he is a liar and does not love God at all.
