This is lesson 10 of the systematic Bible study of the Book of First John which covers 1 John 5:12-21. Practical advice is given to parents and teachers on how to teach these verses, and important doctrines are pointed out and discussed. The doctrines being covered are: #1 – Jesus Christ is life, and those that are in Him have life, and those that are not in Christ Jesus do not have life. #2 – Those that believe on the name of Jesus Christ have eternal life. #3 – God will hear and answer the prayers of the saints, as long as they are praying for things that are in agreement with His will. #4 – The saints are to pray for the forgiveness of the saints should they fall into sin. #5 – There is a sin that is unto death, and for this type of sin the saints are not to pray on the behalf of the saints for. #6 – The saints do not live in habitual unrepentant sin, and are protected from the evil one by God the Father. #7 – All those outside of Christ are part of the world of wickedness. #8 – God the Father has given understanding to the saints so that they would know that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh and is true. #9 – Jesus Christ not only gives eternal life, He is eternal life. #10 – The saints are to purposefully keep themselves from idols.
